So, why bother with studio photography of costume replicas? Why not? Hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars are spent making these ornate and meticulously detailed costumes, yet for the most part, they are photograhed in the worst environment; a crowded, poorly lit convention, with horrible backgrounds and many distracting elements. Below are a few examples of my own convention pictures versus studio photographs of similar costumes. I believe the differences speak for themselves. The studio offers a perfect environment to capture the true beauty and craftsmanship that is put into these costumes. I think they deserve no less.
